About this Class
Throughout this series of classes we studied the first book of Rambam’s Mishneh Torah, known as “The Book of Knowledge”. This book covers core concepts within Judaism that everyone who follows Torah needs to understand – which is all the more important for non-Jews like us who usually have a lot of misconceptions carried over from our prior religions. These are essential to gaining a deeper understanding of Torah and mitzvot.
In this class, we cover core Torah concepts, such as:
- The Nature of God: who/what is God, fear/love of God, sanctification of God’s name
- Prophecy: what is it, how does it works, identifying false prophets, unchangeable nature of Torah, testing God.
- Character Development: self-improvement, health & wellness, ways of the wise, lashon hara, spiritual accounting
- Idolatry and Blasphemy: define idolatry & blasphemy, how to avoid/recognize idolatry & blasphemy, proselytizing, Noahide identity, Jewish identity.
- How to Study Torah: Noahide obligation to study, teaching children, role of the teacher, role of the student, honoring scholars.
- How to Repent from your sins: define teshuvah, divine judgement, free will,
- Messiah: What is the “Messiah”, Messianic Age & The World To Come
- And, much more!
B’ezrath Hashem (with God’s help), learning these fundamental Torah concepts will help set you up for future learning and growth in Torah!
