The Torah Portion of PEQUDEI (פְקוּדֵי—Hebrew for “amounts of,” the second word, and the first distinctive word, in the parashah) is the 23rd weekly Torah portion (פָּרָשָׁה, parashah) in the annual Jewish cycle of Torah reading. This parashah tells of the amounts of gold, silver, and copper that is donated by the people for the Mishkan (aka Tabernacle), the making the of priestly garments by artisans. The Mishkan is erected and anointed by Moses who also initiates Aaron and his sons as high priests. The Divine Presence appears over the Mishkan as a cloud.
