This parashah tells of growth and enslavement of the Children of Israel in Egypt, the rescue of Moses as a baby from Pharaoh’s edict to kill all Hebrew male babies, Moses flees Egypt to Midian and becomes a shepherd under Jethro, Moses encounters God at the burning bush, then Moses returns to Egypt.
